So now there’s been a tentative termination date thrown out …April 14th. Kinda arbitrary. We’re going to have a run with the automation on April 4th and gradually do each newscast with the automation until the rest of the crew is no longer needed.
I’ve been searching for space for my hoopdance classes. I’m trying to visualize the space…a warm and inviting dance studio with high ceilings…a space the has positive vibes already instilled within its walls…a space where I can inspire my students and myself. A place where I can teach long-term. Gotta keep setting that bar high!

Just applied for a federal trademark in two classes – education and manufacturing. I can now use a TM on my business name until I get the official registration which could take 6 to 8 months. I feel official!

My life is shifting in every direction — like standing on sandy soil during a rolling 7.0 magnitude earthquake. No knowing when it will stop or which way I’ll be facing when it’s over or if I’ll be swallowed up.
So to quell the panic that comes with the uncertainty, I write down everything I need to do, to consider, to accomplish on bits of scrap paper and sticky notes. Simple task lists to potentially brilliant business plan ideas litter flat surfaces in my home. Every imaginable level of chicken scratch is determined by my sense of urgency and predictable forgetfulness – but somehow, I get things done.

So yesterday I found out that my job will end in mid-April rather than the first week in May. It’s only a couple of weeks difference but MAY seems so much farther out. Now I’m FREAKING OUT!!!!!!!
I have no savings, no idea how much I will get in severance, no idea how much unemployment will be and I have an ever-mounting pile of debt from trying to get my next career off the ground.
Oh, and I haven’t even bothered to update my resume or look for work. Nice, huh? I mean, what the hell can I do now? My skills in television news production aren’t really going to be transferable if every station in town is automating – that’s why I’m losing my job this time around.
oooooo….the heart palpitations are heavy today.
